Assessment of civil works conservative status

Structural and architectural diagnostics of buildings, thanks to the application of increasingly innovative technologies, has become a key tool for the management of multiple types of assets and, therefore, their enhancement.
Having a complete diagnostic picture of an asset allows a precise reconstruction of the state of conservation and functionality of structures and materials and, if necessary, the implementation of monitoring and intervention systems that allow the performance of the property to be maintained unchanged over time.
ASACERT offers a specialist service for assessing the conservation status of civil engineering works, thanks to a team of experts who can support the customer also through monitoring activities to ensure safety during renovation processes. Through a series of activities called Non-Destructive Tests, ASACERT is able to provide the customer with a documented report of the investigated asset that allows him to carry out restructuring or restoration interventions in complete safety.

The assessment faciliatates

  • The verification of the investment feasibility
  • The considered definition of the intervention project
  • A better evaluation of costs and intervention times

During the intervention phase, this kind of assessment guarantees continuous control of all events that may endanger the structures affected by dynamic stresses of a certain entity, in particular it allows:

  • The management of previously identified risks
  • The immediate preparation of the necessary interventions
  • The guarantee of safety during interventions

The Diagnostics activity consists in carrying out analyzes and tests on site, among the most used:

  • Endoscopies for the geometric and material reconstruction of structures (e.g. floors)
  • Single flat jacks for measuring stress states in masonry
  • Double flat jacks for evaluating the elastic modulus of masonry
  • Sonic auscultation tests to verify the state of aggregation of the masonry

Other types of tests can also be prepared, depending on the type of site and intervention.
The Diagnostics ends with the drafting of a report, accompanied by photographs, which the client can use to define the intervention project.
