UNI PDR 107:2021 Protected Environment Certification

The Certification is based on the UNI PdR 107:2021 document “Protected Environment – Guidelines for the Prevention of Environmental Damage – Technical Criteria for Effective Environmental Risk Management,” and is a complementary tool to existing environmental certifications, such as ISO 14001.

The need for the development of this certification stems from a desire on the part of the Environment Pool (Consortium for Environmental Damage Liability Insurance and Reinsurance) to help companies identify and manage environmental risks arising from their operations, in order to protect environmental resources. The initiative stemmed from the need, identified by the Environment Pool, to make precise guidance available to companies for the prevention of environmental damage, having found that the main cause of accidents comes from poor maintenance of facilities or poor presence of prevention devices. In this sense, choosing to certify one’s company means not only demonstrating one’s sensitivity to the issue of environmental damage prevention, but also one’s awareness of risks associated with one’s business. The certification is intended for all types of organizations, regardless of their size and industry sector, that conduct their business at a site of production facilities, warehouses, storage facilities, logistics centers, construction sites, etc.
