S. Pellegrino Flagship Factory
WORK DETAILS.
Sanpellegrino S.p.A., a historical brand in the Italian beverage sector, has entrusted ASACERT with the task of carrying out technical control activities for the renovation works of the plant in Ruspino – San Pellegrino Terme (BG).
Founded in 1899, when bottling of the water that gushes out at the foot of the Alps in the Brembana Valley began at the spa resort, the company now has a worldwide presence with mineral waters, non-alcoholic aperitifs, soft drinks and iced teas, and celebrated just at the beginning of 2019 its 120th anniversary. Attentive to the issue of sustainability and always a promoter of a healthy lifestyle, Sanpellegrino represents the tradition, elegance and conviviality typical of Italian style.
SERVICE
The in-progress technical inspection that the ASACERT Inspection Group carried out concerns the redevelopment works of the historic factory in Val Brembana, specifically: the renovation of the offices, the expansion of production and the creation of a new attraction called “Visitor Center.”
Within the redevelopment program is, in particular, the creation of a new logistics hub that will aim to improve the road system and decongest traffic in the surrounding areas; among the planned interventions are a new multi-story parking area and a new bridge over the Brembo River, which will lead directly to the plant.
The entire project aimed to make the new S.Pellegrino Flagship Factory more logistically and productively efficient, increasing safety for workers, and is also an opportunity to give concrete form to Sanpellegrino’s identity. For this reason, the company held an international competition for the redevelopment and reorganization of the entire plant, which was won by the New York-based firm BIG.
ASACERT’s technical experts, who have many years of experience in inspecting the design and execution of residential, commercial and industrial construction works, were tasked with verifying the stability and mechanical strength requirements of the structural elements, and the durability, maintainability and service life of the waterproofing of the bridge and multi-story parking area.
RESULT
At the end of the in-progress technical control service, carried out by the multidisciplinary team of qualified resources, ASACERT verified the substantial compliance of the implementation of the works with the project, the current regulatory framework and the rule of art, issuing the final Technical Control report valid for insurance purposes for the subscription of a ten-year posthumous policy.
