Rolex - Logistics and Operations Center
WORK DETAILS.
The new Rolex logistics and operations center in Milan is a modern steel structure distinguished by the high degree of technology employed, as well as an extensive green presence. The first two levels of the building house the service center’s working rooms, while the top floor contains a canteen and a meeting room. The building’s logistics and warehouse departments are located in the basement, set on two levels, while a sharp “cut” in the structure, at the corner formed by the meeting of Filippetti Street and Cassolo Street, creates a bright triple-height atrium.
The uniqueness of the building, which was the subject of the Technical Inspection carried out by ASACERT, consists of the facades, which have been fully upgraded and enhanced while respecting the existing exterior silhouette and the colors already present on the main front. Among the needs outlined in the design phase was the optimization of energy comfort according to exposure. Thus, a solution was adopted involving a variable façade “skin,” fixed in some places and movable in others, to ensure the widest flexibility in terms of light and thermal insulation; “double-skin” façades, represent a high-tech exterior wall system consisting of a double glass closure layer with a cavity in between. A bright environment due to the maximum transparency of the glass windows, which at the same time provides privacy due to the masked view to the outside. Above the meeting room on the top floor, the photovoltaic skin completes the building, ensuring maximum energy savings. A facade, therefore, that is essential and has minimal impact on the environment, but is aesthetically pleasing.
SERVICE
ASACERT performed the activity of Technical Control during construction, verifying the design documentation, the compliance of the work with the project requirements, the adequacy of the materials used and the application of the rules of good construction practice, expressing a positive opinion following the controls.
