Port of Ancona
DETAILS OF THE WORK
The port of Ancona constitutes one of the port nodes of the “Scandinavian-Mediterranean” corridor, which connects major urban centers and ports in Scandinavia and northern Germany to industrialized manufacturing centers in southern Germany, Austria and Italy as far as Malta.
The current Master Plan aims to adapt the Port of Ancona to the flow of goods by expanding port areas and improving accessibility from land and sea, optimizing existing spaces, and upgrading and specializing them.
In order to increase the level of service, quality and efficiency needed to stay in line with market standards, primarily the increase in ship size, a new configuration of the maritime access to the port was outlined through the construction of a breakwater and a breakwater. The new pier, which is nearly 800 meters long, consists of several layers of natural reefs, concrete conglomerate tetrapods and a mantle lining; in addition, a concrete mooring artifact has been built on the head section.
