Montecchio Maggiore bus station
DETAILS OF THE WORK
The company MONTECCHIO Scarl has entrusted ASACERT with the task of carrying out the technical control activity during construction in relation to the completion works of the new Montecchio Maggiore bus station and connections with ordinary roads. The work is located in the Province of Vicenza and affects the municipalities of Montecchio Maggiore, Brendola and Montebello Vicentino.
The need to build a new motorway station in Montecchio Maggiore is inspired by the difficult situation of the current toll booth and by the continuous traffic congestion on the external junctions and roads, which present characteristics inadequate for managing the current huge volumes of traffic. The congestion frequently causes the paralysis of the roundabout at the exit of the toll booth and queues on the roads leading to it, in particular on the SP 500 coming from Brendola and on the access road to Alte.
Furthermore, the project aims to lighten traffic also along the motorway junction until it reaches, backwards, the motorway itself, where slowdowns are created on the deceleration track of the junction, with dangerous situations also for motorway traffic.
The works to be carried out include:
- Creation of the emergency lane on the A4 in correspondence with the MI-VE railway line, with adaptation of the motorway axis for approximately 2 kilometers and expansion of the existing railway bridge and construction of a new railway bridge. Works carried out subject to railway and motorway traffic;
- Construction of the new motorway junction with staggered levels, also functional for the connection with the Pedemontana Veneta highway;
- Construction of the new Montecchio Maggiore motorway toll booth;
- Construction of the new Maintenance Center;
- Completion works for the new motorway car park;
- Completion works (systems, noise barriers, safety barriers, vertical and horizontal signs, flooring, green areas, etc.)
SERVICE
ASACERT will carry out the technical inspection service during construction in relation to the completion of the new Montecchio Maggiore bus station and connections with ordinary roads. Specifically, the inspection activities will be carried out on the stability and mechanical resistance requirements of the structural elements, including embankments, intended as prevention of total or partial ruin of the work and serious construction defects, with reference to parts of the work intended by their nature long-lasting, provided that they arise from a construction defect or an error in the executive project.
ASACERT experts will also verify the durability, maintainability and useful life of the waterproofing of the perimeter and roofing funds of the works.
