ASACERT carried out the Technical Control service for the new Galeazzi Hospital in Milan, an innovative multi-specialist structure designed to meet the healthcare needs of the future. The structure, located within the former Expo area, is an integral part of the MIND – Milan Innovation District – the new district dedicated to innovation and science which will also host the Human Technopole (Italian life sciences research institute), the “Science for Citizen” scientific campus of the State University and the Triulza Foundation, lab-hub for social innovation and sustainable development.
The new hospital center offers its patients multidisciplinary services in the name of logistical efficiency, providing integrated services based on an innovative approach to the concept of public health.
At 94 meters high, the hospital is among the highest in Europe. The project involved the construction of a main 16-storey building with a total surface area of 50,000 m2, divided between the emergency room, research laboratories, outpatient clinics, operating block and hospital wards. To complete the structure, another 30,000 m2 of parking and green areas, which contribute to creating a cutting-edge complex, designed to encourage the inclusion and welcome of workers and patients.
The duration of the construction site was approximately three years, during which ASACERT, thanks to the many years of experience of its collaborators and the high technical expertise in the construction sector, covered the role of supervisor of the works during the various construction phases, so such as to guarantee compliance with the stability and durability parameters of the structure and the standards required by law.
During the construction phases of the work ASACERT held the role of technical controller, evaluating the adequacy of the design choices and the realization of the works in relation to the satisfaction of the requirements of: Stability and mechanical resistance of the structural elements and Durability, maintainability, life useful of:
- external casing and windows of the building
- waterproofing of building roofs
- internal flooring and coverings of the building d. plasters and external coverings of the building

Energy saving, reduction of waste, consumption and noise and polluting emissions, eco-compatible materials, photovoltaic system and compliance with LEED requirements, but also district heating, thermal power plants for the production of steam and cutting-edge technological equipment.
The technical control carried out by ASACERT could only give a positive result, for this unique and innovative structure at the highest levels of certified safety and quality.
