Bari - Bitetto railway line

DETAILS OF THE WORK

The company Salvatore Matarrese S.p.a.-a Bari-based company specializing in the construction sector-has entrusted ASACERT to carry out the service of technical control in progress On structural works, for the construction of a new double-track line as a track variant of the Bari – Taranto railway line in the section between Bari S. Andrea and Bitetto.

The section covers 10.5 kilometers and the new route bypasses the town of Modugno, at which one of the two new stops in the project is being built, along with the one called “Villaggio del Lavoratore” a few kilometers from Bari. The project involves the construction of artificial tunnels to intersect the Bari Ring Road, the Great Communication Complanar Highway, some Provincial Roads and the A14 Bari – Taranto Highway, the existing Bari – Taranto railway line and the viaduct over the former Cementir Quarry.

The Bari S. Andrea – Bitetto section is the last one needed for the completion of the doubling of the Bari-Taranto line and is essential for the full development of rail transportation both regionally and in connecting the productive and commercial areas of Puglia and Calabria with the rest of Europe.

SERVICE

The ASACERT technical experts, after appropriate analysis of the documentation, regularly continue their visits to the processing sites reporting their findings, as per practice, waiting to prepare the Final Report upon completion of the work.
